Jacob Wu is the owner of Tutor Doctor in Irvine, California, but he was not always in the tutoring industry. Upon completing his M.S. in Computer Science at State University of New York at Binghamton, Jacob launched immediately into a successful career in real-time embedded software development. As he worked and raised his family, he watched his sons struggle in school and realized the importance of education. After over 20 years as a successful software developer, Jacob felt it was time for a change. Motivated by his sons' recent successes in school, Jacob wanted to help other struggling students overcome obstacles like his sons had. He wanted to teach students the importance of education and improve not just their grades, but their confidence. When Jacob found Tutor Doctor, he knew this was the career change he had been looking for. Jacob is passionate about helping young minds, and a firm believer that knowledge is power. The best reason to study hard, he says, is to provide oneself with the greatest number of options in life.
