Eric Shawn Tioran is the owner of Tioran Metal Construction, which specializes in metal roofing in Raleigh and its surrounding area. In February 2000, Tioran launched the business because he wanted to be his own boss and do right by customers. “We can customize metal and provide details that others have not done,” he says. “We can work with customers to give them exactly what they want.” Having learned the trade from his father and working in a sheet metal shop from when he was a teen, Tioran says his mentors all had around 40 years of experience. From his own shop, Tioran tries to keep prices down and prefers the small business feel he has created, which he says keeps him in closer contact with customers and his employees. “Metal can be pretty expensive, so we try to make it more affordable and valuable,” he says. “We want the customer to be happy, so we’re willing to work out even the smallest details.”
