Alan Banks spent years in the non-profit world and is currently on the Board of Directors of the Easter Seals Society of Washington. He is the son, great-grandson, grandson and brother of educators, and firmly believes in education as a necessity of life. Spending 16 years in Asia gave him a perspective on education from different cultures, enabling him to see that there may be alternative ways of doing things to what the American education system was providing. This led him to start Tutor Doctor Washington upon his return to America; believing that , “if you aren’t part of the solution, you are part of the problem."
