Tim Smith was brought up in south central Kentucky in Campbellsville. There he went to Campbellsville College and then to Western Kentucky University. His father owned a small home improvement business that he was fathered into after school. It was considered small compared to larger city standards but for the area it was one of the biggest. Smith worked out in the field and actually ran a crew when he was only 18 yrs old. He worked full time for the company until he was 24 yrs old. In February of 1998 he moved to Lexington and started T. Smith Siding & Windows, Inc. “At first there where many trials and tribulations. At times I just wanted to go back home. It is extremely hard going in a home when you are only 24 yrs old and convincing older homeowners to buy from you! After a lot of hard work and the grace of God I built T. Smith as one of the largest home improvement companies” Smith says. In 2008 he built a new 6500 sq ft showroom/warehouse between Lexington and Nicholasville. “Now 13 yrs later we are one of the largest and most reputable companies in the area. Completing almost 3000 projects, be it small or large. I am extremely humble and very thankful for the people in Lexington and the surrounding area for letting a country boy from a small town be successful in living up to my dream of owning my own window/siding company.”
