Kevin Bell of Higher Standard AC and Heating says that originally his career path took him in a direction different from HVAC installation and repairs. After graduating from The Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship in Houston, Bell started a construction company, but soon he and his business partner Rob Hastings realized that they wanted to diversify their company. After learning that Houston was one of the most air conditioned cities in the country, the pair decided to reorganize and open a business that catered to heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. What separates Higher Standard AC and Heating from others in the area has a lot to do with the company’s name, Bell explains. When Bell and his employees think about their name, they often visualize how they can make sure that their work reaches a higher standard. Mostly, he says, this involves perfecting every repair and installation that is done, and only providing the type of work that they would want done in their own homes as well.
