Doctors Express of Lake Oswego is headed by Dr. Kelly Leaf, a Board Certified physician with 14 years of experience in family, emergency and urgent care medicine. Dr. Leaf leads a team of competent and caring physicians, whose primary goal is to deliver quality care that is comprehensive, affordable, and readily available to the community. Dr. Leaf became interested in urgent care because of 2 unique service related aspects of this field: 1) the ability to comprehensively meet a patient's needs, including necessary diagnostic tests and treatment plan development, all in one visit and 2) the opportunity to fulfill a need that exists in the community for immediate access to care, without having to visit an overcrowded emergency department. In addition, he is interested in the diversity of urgent care medicine, as well as the opportunity to see patients of diverse age groups with a variety of problems. As director of an Ambulatory Care Unit of a major hospital branch in the Portland area, Dr. Leaf oversaw physician staffing, operations and was responsible for quality and efficiency of patient care. Prior to that he practiced family medicine in a primary care center. He has experience working in the Emergency Room and Fast Track area of Adventist Medical Center, where he not only dealt with everyday injuries but also acute and emergent medical problems. After his residency Dr. Leaf spent a brief stint as the Medical Director of Bayer Corporation's New Martinsville Chemical Plant, focusing on occupational health and industrial hygiene. Dr. Leaf also has teaching experience as a clinical faculty member of a family practice residency program in West Virginia. Dr. Leaf graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California and completed his internship at Florida Hospital in Orlando. He then went on to a residency at Wheeling Hospital in West Virginia.
