How to Get Boogie Heads at Your Event

Chris Hampton | February 2, 2010

Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Chris Hampton is the owner of Boogie Heads, an event company selling high-tech entertainment equipment to aspiring entrepreneurs. In this article, Hampton explains how party hosts and promoters can get Boogie Heads at their own event.

Whether or not a person can get Boogie Heads equipment at their party depends mostly on where they live. We have Boogie Heads businesses operating in 21 states across the country, but we are always looking to expand.

To find out if a Boogie Heads vendor is located near your own hometown or party place, go to our site and type in your zip code. From there, you will see a listing of locations, hopefully some of which will be near where you are. Another option you have is to call our toll-free number here in Tennessee, which is located on our website, to find out whether there is a vendor in your area.

Each Boogie Heads equipment owner has his own company, so we don’t set pricing for everyone. But we can put party hosts in touch with the right person to find out more about the process of getting Boogie Heads equipment at their own party. Once a party host finds a Boogie Heads branch in his area, it is up to him to find out whether him party space is conducive for a successful Boogie Heads event. You will need to tell the operator of the venue what type of party you are throwing, what type of space you are looking at, and when the party will be.

Luckily, pretty much all party spaces are compatible with the Boogie Heads equipment, since the rig itself and the television monitors can be set up both inside and outside: The sunshine and potential glare are not a problem. We can set up the rig, video system, and monitors in a 10-by-10-foot area, even though a 10-by-15 space is ideal.

It’s important to explain what type of party you are hosting when you call the Boogie Heads operator, because if you’re hosting an event for children, we can filter out some of the more racy videos. Before giving us a call, parents can check out the list of music videos that Boogie Heads offers on our website. If all the videos are okay, then we will bring the full lineup to the event, and people can choose from what they want to dance to as the party goes on.

The great thing about Boogie Heads—as opposed to karaoke, where you are flipping through a book trying to find a song that you can actually sing well—is that anyone can take part in Boogie Heads, and nobody is any more or less skilled than anyone else.

Usually, people choose the songs that are as goofy as possible to dance to. Or the party host might sit down and decide which of their family members or friends should dance to which songs. The bottom line is, we have fun with it, because that is the main part of Boogie Heads: Everyone should be having a good time.

Unfortunately, it can be difficult to gauge prices on a Boogie Heads event because they are set by whoever owns each set of equipment. I would say, though, that if you are located in a major city like Las Vegas or Los Angeles, you could probably expect for the prices on a Boogie Heads rental to be higher than someone who is renting a setup in rural Indiana.

But of course, if you are interested in buying the Boogie Heads equipment—or a rig, as it is called—then that is another matter. In that case, it is best to call our toll-free number here in Tennessee and ask for a quote on how much it is going to cost to buy a rig. To clarify, a rig includes everything that a person would need to set up a complete Boogie Heads business of his own.

Despite Boogie Heads’ quick growth, there is still a lot of room for expansion. We are always looking for new entrepreneurs who are interested in bringing the Boogie Heads experience to parties in their own hometown.
