The most common time when people need dumpster rental, in my personal experience, is when children are going away to college. We go and typically rent dumpsters to the parents for the cleanup of the newly acquired free space.
You also might need dumpster rental when you are doing any kind of renovation or do-it-yourself type of project, and you need to get rid of your debris. That seems to be a popular rage now. Everyone seems to be getting in on the small home improvement market, whether it is being done by a professional or a DIYer. Most people doing these home renovations will remodel a bathroom or a kitchen, not a large space. That means they will not need a large dumpster but a smaller one, something that is manageable.
Moving and other issues
When you are moving, there is also a lot of debris that needs to be sorted through during the moving process. People these days are also beginning to downsize when it comes to a new property, and less space means more things to get rid of.

We hear a lot about fall clean-ups, but we see the demand from the beginning of spring onto summer and fall. A lot of clean-up projects mean a reallocation of space, with people cleaning out their attics or basements, and they need to get rid of debris.
