If you want to make your landscaping more functional, beautify a space that is empty or correct something that is a bit unruly, its time to call in a professional. Linda Jensen, who heads Arrowwood Landscape Design, Inc gives her tips on what to look for in a landscape company.
They should not just stand on your driveway. You want someone who actually walks on your property. How else will he know what your property even looks like?
Remember-you get what you pay for. Beware if the prices seem too good to be true.
Jensen says “Any bubba can call himself a landscaper.” You want someone who is knowledgeable. Ask about their background. They should have the right certifications and have taken the right classes to match what you want done.
The landscaper should give you a written estimate including their timeline for the project. Many will even draw out a blueprint for you of the potential design.
Ask for references. That way you can see their work in action.
Be sure they live in the area and know its climate. That way you can be assured they choose the right plants for you.
Be sure the landscaper is professional. You want someone who will treat you, your home and its property respectfully.
Look for a landscaper who can cover all the services you want him to. That way you don’t have to call in multiple vendors, saving you money and bringing cohesiveness to your project.
Ask how many employees they have. If they have two or three guys and one truck, you may experience some delays than if you deal with a larger company.
Following these tips, you can get the landscaping you’ve always dreamed of.
