Green Plus and All Green Pest Control Programs

Fred Willey | March 22, 2010

It can be hard to imagine professional pest control companies that don’t always rely on chemical pesticides, but they exist. Fred Willey is owner and president of Invader Pest Management, based in Glendale, Arizona, and talks here about two “green” programs which rely almost entirely on organic and biofriendly materials.

We talk a lot about choosing the least toxic materials when it comes to pest control. We want to choose those first, which include organic materials and things like that. In fact, we have been using those materials for as long as I can remember. Some of them have been re-labeled as being “eco-friendly” or “botanical,” so people don’t always realize that we have been using them in the long term.

For example, boric acid is made from boran, a type of salt. It is not a chemical derivative pesticide. It is a ground up organic material. Diatomaceous earth is made from ground-up seashells. We use that in powder form as it is rough, like split glass, and it will cut and dice up insects when they walk over it and kill them. Those ground-up seashells can be sharp, but they cannot hurt people. And as it is a naturally occurring product, we do not have to worry about that.

Organic and Biofriendly

If you are interested in using organic and biofriendly materials, then either our Green Plus or All Green Pest Control programs are for you. With the Green Plus program, we use all botanical materials, while reserving the right to back up our program with conventional materials if needed, to tackle tough pest problems. This program is designed to eliminate the pests before they enter, and is primarily performed as an exterior-only service with the use of Eco-Friendly Pest Control Products.

With the All Green Pest Control program, we use a combination of years of knowledge, thorough inspections, careful monitoring and purely non-chemical methods to prevent pest problems. For example, we properly seal all cracks and crevices in your home, which will eliminate places where pests hide, rather than simply spraying these areas with pesticides for a short-term fix. Many studies prove that what we call IPM, or Integrated Pest Management, reduces pesticide use and is more effective. It’s promoted by numerous federal, state and local government agencies.

100% Eco-Friendly

The All Green Pest Control Program is for customers who want everything to be 100 percent eco-friendly, and with this in mind, we designed it to be as preventative as possible. Regular inspections and monitoring are at the core of service, which include eco-friendly pest control materials as needed. Please keep in mind that it is essential to perform this service both on the interior and exterior of a building for maximum comprehensive inspection and monitoring.

  1. I think organic pest control is a great thing. I recently realized that there are a lot of companies out there, and they have been doing the “green” thing before it was cool. I haven’t had any bad pest problems, but the next time I do I will definitely be using an organic pest control company.
