Customized Waste Management Solutions

James Brown | January 22, 2010

Waste management is not a case of one size fits all. It all works a lot better when solutions are customized to fit every customer, says James Brown Jr, operations manager of 1-800 Dump Runs of Hartford LLC, located in Manchester, Connecticut.

We will customize the way in which we do something based on our customer. Storage facilities are a good example, as they represent a two-fold service for us. The first is that we will go out and be proactive. If a customer is falling behind in payments and needs to vacate a facility, it is a lot easier for the customer to call us to remove the debris, so we have built relationships with storage facilities to provide that service.

The other side of the same coin is that we also provide a service where we go into storage facilities and clean out any units that have already gone through the default process. That means the salvageable material has gone to auction and the material leftover has to be removed, and we have to clean the facility out.

Real Estate Rapport

It’s the same with real estate companies. We go and clear a house that has been foreclosed on, or one a real estate company has purchased. We go in and remove anything from small clutter to whole house clean-ups, including appliances. Essentially, we will prep the house for showing or resale.

We have built up a relationship and rapport with the real estate company as we’ll go in and do a clean up even after that house has been sold or has been put up for sale when the new buyer does not want certain items left behind.

Pianos are common during fall and winter. The terms of the closing on a house might be the seller has to get rid of the piano prior to he homeowner moving in. So we go out and do that a lot this time of year.

Contracts with Plumbers

We do a lot of work with commercial companies overall, building our costs into their quotes. For example, we do a lot of boiler and water heater furnace removal for plumbers. So we have commercial accounts set up for them, and when they bid, they include the costs of our services in their bids.

That means we provide a complete service for the customers, from taking away old material to installation of the new product. It’s all part of our service, giving the customer a personalized professional waste management solution from top to bottom.
