Nearly every homeowner has experienced the same frustrating scenario: carpet stains that seem to be gone after a cleaning, but quickly return in the following days. Why do carpet stains so often come back after a cleaning? If you want to avoid those infamous reappearing carpets stains, Howard says, then don’t fall for the “cheap” guys’ special offers. “Every now and then you’ll see a coupon for a $30 carpet cleaning,” he says. “Be aware that if you go for a deal like that, you’re very likely going to get exactly what you’ve paid for.” A bargain is only a bargain, he says, if your carpets are cleaned to your satisfaction.
Rather than choosing a carpet cleaner based solely on price, Howard recommends considering other factors as well. “Of course you should be charged a fair price,” he says, “but it’s also important to consider who you’re hiring to do the work – their methods, their qualifications, and their reputation within the community.”
