Coping With Menopause

Anju Mathur | February 17, 2010

When a woman begins to experience menopause, it can be difficult. But there are ways to cope which can make her leave feeling great, says Dr. Anju Mathur, who runs the Angel Longevity Medical Center in Los Angeles. She believes there are many ways which we can relieve symptoms of the menopause, and make a woman feel better and even considerably younger.

Menopause is a critical time in a woman’s life. Being a woman, I know that it is important to actually balance the hormones, even before you go into menopause, a few years before, during what is called peri-menopause. You can spend five to 15 years in that stage of peri-menopause before you actually stop having menses.

The hormones in a woman’s body change as early as 30 years of age. That would create various non-optimum conditions a woman could go through, including mood swings, irritability, insomnia, waking up several times a night, not having deep sleep, weight gain, being tired all the time. All these are common in women who are experiencing, or about to experience, menopause.

Balancing Hormones

It is important for a woman to take care of herself in terms of balancing her hormones. Then she can keep her well-being intact and feel good about herself. You can go out and handle yourself without putting all your attention on yourself, the attention will get extroverted, and you can do more things in life, enjoy more what you like to do, whatever that is.

In other words, you do not have to suffer. Treatments are available; they are all natural and are part of anti-aging as well. And at Angel Longevity Medical Center, we offer the right treatments which are customized expressly for you.

Lower Estrogen

Women who have lower levels of estrogen routinely look older by eight years. Studies have been done, comparing the actual age of a woman and what age she appears to be to others. Women with lower estrogen levels look eight years older than their actual age. But it is easy to balance your hormones in terms of estrogen, progesterone and testosterone — the three hormones in the female body.

I have often, unfortunately, seen people’s marriages begin to start falling apart due to hormonal imbalances, but it really does not have to be that way. At Angel Longevity, we can do something for you, and then it all goes back together again.

About Anju Mathur

Author Name

Dr. Anju Mathur, MD, has practiced general medicine in Greater Los Angeles for the last 15 years. After being in private practice for a few years, she became disappointed with the results she was getting using conventional medicine. Patients were not raving about results, and when she herself suffered a personal health crisis, she looked for real solutions to health problems. Dr. Mathur looked at nutrition to find answers and soon was using appropriate nutritional supplements. It worked wonderfully with no side effects, so she decided to further explore the realms of so-called alternative medicine. She was lucky enough to discover bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and became impressed with what just balancing the hormones can do to bring wellness and vitality to life. Dr. Mathur finished medical school at the Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi India and completed her internship in Internal Medicine, Martin Luther King Hospital, Los Angeles. She now runs the LA-based Angel Longevity Medical Center, and is board-certified in Anti Aging Medicine by the American Academy of Anti-aging and Regenerative Medicine. She has been treating hundreds of patients by balancing their hormones and practicing anti aging and wellness medicine, and attends almost double the hours required by a medical doctor for continuing education to keep abreast of all advances in the field.
