What is Laser Light Therapy?

Rob Angelino | September 22, 2009

Rob Angelino, founder of hair loss clinic HAIRLAB, a medical and natural hair restoration center located in Beverly Hills, California, defines laser light therapy:

Also known as low level light therapy, or LLLT, laser light therapy is a medical technique that uses a cold red laser and infrared technology to help stimulate your cells. This process increases blood flow and therefore hair regrows. The laser penetrates the skin and hair follicles, getting the blood circulating much faster. This then causes the hair to come back thicker and stronger.

LLLT is used in dentistry and dermatology. In June 2009, a study found that LLLT may also improve neuronal cell function in patients with Parkinson’s Disease (PD).
