Why to Use a Charter Service

John Rusinak | January 4, 2010

John Rusinak is managing member of Wings Jets, a boutique private jet charter service provider that offers members an alternative to fractional ownership and leading card programs. Here he talks about the benefits of using his company as opposed to others.

Why use Wings Jets aircraft charter? Here are four reasons: Customization, quality, safety, and value.

  1. Customization. With Wings Jets private air charter, the answer lies in what we call “the pleasure of yes.” Whatever special requests the client asks, we always work to oblige, so the answer is always yes. For example, we are model-specific. If our clients like a particular jet model, we can definitely provide that, in line with the boutique level service we work to source that model. If people want a particular vintage aircraft, less than five years, less than eight years or whatever our clients want, we can and will satisfy and deliver. We have customization also in line with our comprehensive concierge services. We provide all sorts of catering to suit our client needs, whether it is a basic boxed lunch or a series of gourmet meals with lobster, caviar, champagne. We can make pasta dishes, we can make specific seafood dinners. We provide it all, we can arrange it all as well as ground transportation and hotel arrangements. We also have enclosed lavatories, which are useful when clients are flying in mixed company. Some aircraft have enclosed lavatories, some do not. That means that the lavatory is close to the cockpit but there is a soft curtain that is drawn for privacy (not as private as one with a hard door but still private). If our clients request it, we can easily provide an enclosed lavatory.
  2. Quality. Quality comes in two areas. It satisfied by the quality of Wings Jets aircraft or the hardware. That means we care about the quality of the aircraft interior and overall appearance as well as the cleanliness. But also we care about the quality of the customer service, all the way from booking details to customer service level of the aviation advisers and the customer service level as delivered by the pilots. Quality of amenities can also mean fully reclining seats, or divans or couches, sophisticated entertainment systems, flight phones. That all plays into the quality that Wings Jets offers.
  3. Safety. We have this through our affiliation with both the aviation research group of the US, ARG/US and also Wyvern Ltd. That means that we conduct comprehensive background checks on the operator, the aircraft and both pilots for every flight. So every Wings Jets trip is protected by this comprehensive background check using the ARG/US TripCHEQ, and the Wyvern PASS systems. We also have as represented by our own proprietary standards our Wings Jets level of standard. We define the pilots experience levels to be equal to and even exceeding those of fractional jet pilots.
  4. Value. Our air charter service delivery represents significant value as compared to our peers. And as an overarching theme to understanding the quality of our delivery, our quotes represent a 10% to 30% discount in relationship to our peers, whether it be jet membership or fractional or jet cards.
