If you are suffering from an infestation of insects or rodents, getting rid of them is vital. These disease-carrying creatures not only pose a severe health risk, but can also cause a lot of damage to your home or business. Luckily, solutions are available. Brian Hanly is a spokesman for JP McHale Pest Management Inc., the leader in pest control and extermination across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. He talks here about the firm’s Vector Intervention Program, which covers rodents, ticks and mosquitoes.
The Vector Intervention Program that we offer covers rodents, mosquitoes and ticks, all of which can carry diseases that can harm to people. The rodents can carry the Hantavirus, which is dangerous to humans and is left behind in mouse droppings. If they are not picked up, then the odor from the droppings can cause harm to humans. Mosquitos can cause the West Nile virus, which is widespread and well-known, and ticks can cause Lyme disease.
Using Rodent Bait Stations
What happens with this service is our technicians go out every month during the summer months to take care of your home. We will have rodent bait stations set up around the home, which cover the mice and the rats. We then apply an ecotone around the home, which is the property between the edge of the lawn to the woods. Basically, we target all these dangerous creatures where they harbor and breed.
We go around the entire property and treat it with this product. Then we also treat all of the gardens and any wooded area that is on the property, which covers ticks. For mosquitoes, we apply a spray to the entire lawn and then the ecotone as well. This will control all mosquitoes from coming to the property.
We do this regularly throughout the summer, although the entire program will begin in April and continue through October, as all these health risks emerge at specific times during the year. Basically, we monitor what is happening from season to season, to keep on top of the progression of different types of pests.
Incredibly Popular Program
The Vector Intervention Program is popular, and is done by our tree and turf division, which covers trees, lawns and other things. It is especially in demand if you have a lot of kids playing in the yard, if you have an outdoor swimming pool, or if you have a big property or a big garden.
It is one of our programs that is most in demand because of the location of our company, in the northwest, where the West Nile disease and Lyme disease are both prevalent. As these diseases can take weeks before symptoms show up, the best treatment is prevention. If you enjoy spending time outdoors, then this treatment could be for you!
