Difference Between Select and Elite Planes

John Rusinak | January 2, 2010

John Rusinak is managing member of Wings Jets, a private jet charter service provider. Here he talks about the difference between Select and Elite aircraft, and the current pricing for both.

When we are talking about elite aircraft, elite means all aircraft 10 years or newer. Select is all our jets, hand-selected for each client and each trip. So clients can choose a vintage aircraft if they want a jet that is five years old or newer or 10 years old or newer, or they can go with a hand-selected aircraft and go with the best-positioned one.

We have our published rates for flying on those aircraft or we also offer the best price. If one is well-positioned, then we offer the best price guarantee.

And once again, both of those are fixed quotes. So there’ll be surprises after the flight, regardless if we had to fly around a weather system for safety, even thought the flight took longer, so that the trip was smoother and safer. We would not bill for that extra flying.

Here are some of the pricing we offer (as of January, 2010):

Select Light Jets

  • Round-trip rates: $2,500 per hour
  • One-way rates: $3,500 per hour
  • Fuel surcharge: $475 per hour

Elite Light Jets

  • Round-trip rates: $3250 per hour
  • One-way rates: $4,100 per hour
  • Fuel surcharge: $475 per hour

Select Mid-Size Jets

  • Round-trip rates: $3,700 per hour
  • One-way rates: $4,700 per hour
  • Fuel surcharge: $575 per hour

Elite Mid-Size Jets

  • Round-trip rates: $4,500 per hour
  • One-way rates: $5,700 per hour
  • Fuel surcharge: $575 per hour

Select Heavy Jets

  • Round-trip rates: $5,950 per hour
  • One-way rates: $7,500 per hour
  • Fuel surcharge: $675 per hour

Elite Heavy Jets

  • Round-trip rates: $8,200 per hour
  • One-way rates: $9,800 per hour
  • Fuel surcharge: $675 per hour

The beauty of Wings Jets is that our clients have the ability to select the model aircraft they want, or choose the one that is the best-positioned in that category. Our aviation team is always on hand to help you make the best decision for you. Give us a call today.
