Hiring a private investigator to carry out a background check is becoming relatively common, whether it’s to investigate a suspected cheating spouse or look into the past of a potential employee. Rick Roy, founder of Rix Investigations in Phoenix Arizona, talks about this – and the new types of bug-sweeping efforts loosely connected to this idea.
Using a professional private investigation firm to carry out a background check can be an intelligent and cost-effective way to find out more about someone else’s past, either their recent actions or behavior that took place years ago. Whether you are interested in a criminal/business or personal background check, hiring us can save you both time and money in the long run.
Most of the time we conduct background checks for women who want to know why their boyfriends or their husbands are acting strangely, and we also conduct checks for employers wanting to check out employees. Even schools at times will hire us to check on somebody. Usually it will be the school staff themselves that does the hiring, and the person who is being suspected is usually a teacher.
The majority of the information that we get when we conduct a background check is through secure data bases, accessible only to law enforcement and private investigators. The only other place that I get every bit of my information is putting my feet on the ground and walking where I need to go.
Here are the main reasons people hire us to do checks:
- Cheating spouse
- Suspicious employee
- Nanny check
- Tenant screening
- Employee screening
- Various other personal checks
Bug Sweeping
One huge thing that is not big now worldwide but will become big is TFCN, or Technical Surveillance Counter-Measures. What that all comes down to is bug sweeping. A lot of that is going on at the moment, and Rix Investigations is more than qualified to do that should the need arise. We have all the equipment on board all the time to do it.
TFCN is a scientific way of looking for bugging devices and transmitters through infrared, microwave radio frequency, as well as through Radio Frequency Identification, or RFID.
The way it works is like this: If someone calls me asking me to do an investigation involving suspected spousal infidelity or cheating, I may go to her home and sweep it for bugs, if I suspect she is being listened to.
That is not as far-fetched as you might think. Let’s say a husband is cheating on his wife. He may be spying on her was well, as he figures that if he is cheating she might be too. One of the most common things I see is a husband accusing his wife of cheating, when in reality it is only because he is cheating. The explanation of that is if you are willing to cheat, in your mind your spouse has the capacity to do that also.
When we combine looking for bug sweeping as part of our background checks for spousal infidelity, we can really get to the bottom of the problem.
