You might think that choosing the right colors for the interior of your home is as easy as 1-2-3, but it’s not. John Bunnell, the owner of the CertaPro Painters franchise in Austin, Texas, discusses here why it’s important to make the right decision when it comes to interior colors, and how he can help you make that decision.
The color choices you make inside your home say a lot about you. Here at CertaPro Painters, we ultimately leave the decision up to the homeowner, but we like to help out as much as possible. We like to remind the homeowner, for example, that they need to take into account furniture colors when choosing a paint color.
We provide complimentary color charts that show trendy and popular colors. We encourage the homeowner to select a few that they like, and then we apply some paint samples for them at no charge. These samples let the customer get a better idea of how the color will look on their walls, and let us know whether we will need one or two coats for the project.
Happy Homeowners
Our goal is to have each and every homeowner be happy with their color selection. If a customer chooses a color that is not of interest to me, I stay neutral. We want customers to be happy with each project when it is done.
One reason we do samples is to avoid a situation where the customer is unhappy with the color. Before we started doing color sampling, we had quite a few customers who decided after the fact that they hate the color they have chosen. Since we started the color sampling, that hasn’t happened. If they do end up hating it despite the samples, we can give them another price and repaint the areas in question.
Professional Advice
If a customer is unsure about which color they want, we have someone available for them to talk to. All of our customers can have a complimentary color consultation with an interior designer. We have our own in-house interior decorating service.
We know that different paint colors can have different effects on your mood. And you should keep in mind nuances, like that greens and blues can be cool, warm, or even somewhere in-between, depending on their composite pigments. As mentioned, considering furnishings and flooring is also important in order to create harmony inside the home.
