A Chair Massage to Ease Aches and Pain

Kelly Brown | August 14, 2009

Risks?

The risks affiliated with chair massage are relatively few, but they do exist. It may be difficult for women that are in the later months of pregnancy to be comfortable in the chair, and the pressure could harm the baby. Speak with your doctor prior to receiving chair massage, and be sure the therapist knows that you are pregnant before they begin. Those that have recently had surgery will also want to clear massage with their doctor, and speak with the therapist beforehand. A trained massage therapist will consult with the client before the massage begins, and a brief overview of medical history will more than likely be taken. This means the therapist should be aware of any existing conditions or recent health changes before giving the massage.

Massage therapy is one of the most effective ways to reward your body. Just a 10-minute chair massage can clear the mind, and alleviate stress and tension in the muscles. For those feeling worn down by day to day anxiety, or those just needing an added boost in the middle of a long afternoon, consider a chair massage to ease your pain.

About Kelly Brown

Author Name

Kelly began writing professionally shortly after moving to the Midwest from Baltimore. Possessing a love of writing since grade school, she used her talents to temporarily make ends meet while searching for a job in the new neighborhood. After finding a part-tine job in alternative health education, freelance writing was put aside. Three years later, having learned a tremendous amount about health and healing, she found herself in a typical 9-5 job, learning the ins and outs of the editing and proofreading industry. She was desperate to turn her freelance writing into a full-time gig, and in May of 2009, took the leap and began her own company.
