Dr. Nathan Miller is a board certified cosmetic surgeon and owner of the OKC Lipo in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Specializing in all forms of liposuction, Dr. Miller is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons, American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, and a prospective member of the American College of Surgeons. Here, he tells us all about paying for laser liposuction.
Laser liposuction is another one of these new modalities that has come out, as far as recent advancements in the field of cosmetic surgery. What we as doctors can essentially do with the technology is melt the fat away and then suck the fat out with a suction tube. We are using this technique to give patients some really great results.
In terms of more specifically about the laser liposuction procedure, multiple companies currently offer this laser technology to doctors. Some physicians will use a dual wavelength laser right now; some people will use what is known as a single wavelength laser. Of course, everyone claims that the laser they are using is the best. You know, that’s just how it works.
But essentially, using the laser we are able to just melt the fat in whatever area of the body we are working on into a sort of dissolved fluid. So after we’ve done this with the laser, we can go right back in there with a special suction tube to just go in behind it and suck that melted fat right out of the body. Once again, we are able to do this procedure using just a local anesthetic. Obviously, the length of time it takes to perform laser liposuction can vary, but a lot of our appointments last just about 45 minutes.
We can use laser liposuction pretty much all over the body, including the arms, butts, chin, face, hips, and thighs. It works well for male breast reductions, as well. The hope is also that the laser will stimulate the body’s collagen production, too, which can result in the appearance of tighter, smoother skin.
Pricing
As far as cost goes when you are talking about laser liposuction, here at OKC Lipo I usually charge $2,000 for the first area of laser lipo, and then $1,500 for every other area thereafter. Price wise, we are significantly cheaper here at OKC Lipo than at other practices nationwide.
The reason for this has to do a lot with our location here in Oklahoma. I moved my practice out here from Scottsdale, Arizona, so when I first came out here to the Midwest, it seemed like everything was on. On top of the cost, you save simply by having your procedure done in a low-cost area like Oklahoma. There is also just the fact that we here at OKC Lipo are still charging significantly less for procedures than anyone else in the area. And that certainly applies to the rest of the nation, as well.
The fact that we are able to charge less and give people these great results is great because I feel like if people want to have a cosmetic procedure done, then they should be able to do so. If I make a little less money, then that is fine. I am here as a service to patients, and I truly enjoy what I do as a cosmetic surgeon specializing in liposuction. And if I need to knock a little money off a procedure for someone to have surgery—then if I do can that I’ll do that, too.
We offer multiple financing options here at OKC Lipo. At our front desk, patients can find out about the handful of financing companies that we work with. We also have some links to these companies on our OKC Lipo website. By checking these companies out online, patients can see right away if they will qualify for financing as an option to help pay for their laser liposuction procedure.
