Get Your Skin Ready For a Special Event

Jennifer Swalwell is the owner of Serenity Zone Med Spa, one of the top medical spas in the Washington DC area. Serenity Zone is known for its extensive list of advanced services. In this article, Swalwell tells us the best treatments available to help patients look good for a .

One thing that people love about medical spas is that we offer a variety of procedures that will give our clients great results in just a matter of hours or days. That is one reasons why we have so many clients who come in and say they need to have something done to freshen up their look before a big event or party.

When a client comes in and says she has a big event that she needs to look great for in just a matter of days, Dysport is definitely the treatment option that fits the bill. Dysport is similar to Botox, in that it gets rid of wrinkles. But what makes it special is that the average onset of action for a Dysport treatment is just three days—a much shorter length of time than with some other wrinkle-reducing treatment options.

So if a patient comes in on a Tuesday for a treatment, then she can definitely expect to start seeing results by the time a big event rolls around on a Friday or Saturday. That alone is one reason why so many clients love medical spas. We give people great treatments that can really improve their looks in a short amount of time.

Another popular treatment option for women looking for a quick fix, so to speak, is microdermabrasion. What microdermabrasion does is it takes dead skin cells off a person’s face. We use it to take off the upper layer of a person’s skin, and we can generally take that upper layer away and help a patient show off her radiant skin underneath.

Microdermabrasions work especially well when we apply a mask or a serum in addition to the regular treatment. And, as always, here at Serenity Zone Med Spa, we will customize that mask and serum depending on each client’s needs and skin type.

We make sure that we put together a treatment plan that will really make that client’s skin glow and radiate so that people will notice when she shows up to the event that weekend.

Costs vary for all procedures, but in general microdermabrasion costs clients $100 to $120 per treatment, although that also depends on what specials we are offering when a client comes in. And here at Serenity Zone, we always offer discounts when clients buy more than one session as part of a package deal. In fact, I would say that the majority of clients buy their sessions in packages, rather than just coming in for one or two microdermabrasion treatments.

Finally, when it comes to microdermabrasion, one specialty we offer that a lot of women like is the diamond tip microdermabrasion. What that is is when we use a crystal-free tip to do the microdermabrasion itself. The tip we use in this procedure is crystal-free, which means that the client does not have to feel any crystals beating up against her skin during the treatment. In addition to that, the diamond tip microdermabrasion is somewhat of a cleaner experience because no crystals are remaining around the nose, eyes, or ears like there might be with a more typical microdermabrasion treatment. So a person can go straight home afterward without worrying about any extra cleanup.

Of course, patients are still going to pay a little bit more for this procedure. It costs about $20 more per session on average. But when you look at what you are getting for that—and I mean a cleaner, less irritating process—then it is worth the price for a lot of clients.

If you have a big event to go to that is less than a week away, I would definitely advise coming into a medical spa and checking out their services. There is a really good chance something will be available to help your skin look more radiant and glowing, just in time for your big day.
