Use of Icons
Icons establish a visual language for elements that are frequently repeated. Over time, they become known to users even if they can’t articulate it.
We use icons to:
- Signify “Home”
- Represent a special type of link that carries an action
- Represent social media links
- Highlight a particularly important bullet or testimonial
- Highlight a search functionality with a magnifying glass
Icons should always closely match their action or accompanying text.
Glyphs
Glyph icons are our primary icon set. Whenever possible, use this set. Here are a few of our more commonly used icons:
Custom Icons
We also have a set of custom icons that are created on an as-needed basis. The styling should be simple, with light strokes around approriate shapes and consistent color usage. The icon should be able to reduce down and retain its integrity. Here are a few of our more commonly used icons:
