Yodle: Web Marketing Services

With a name like Yodle, you might expect to find an alpine Swiss girl named Heidi and an accompanying oompah band in the company's booth at CEDIA Expo.

New York City-based Yodle (booth No. 6645) is an online marketing service that targets small businesses like CE pros making its first appearance at the CEDIA Expo.

In business since 2005, Yodle's primary services for dealers include distributing a dealer's company name on Google, Yahoo, AOL, MSN, Ask, Citysearch and other Web search engine services.

It also offers Web design, real-time feedback and ongoing optimization. The company touts lots of doctors, dentists, salons, home improvement and limousine companies as clients. So how did the CEDIA Expo get on its radar?

"The custom electronics industry is one that we serve very well today," says Court Cunningham, Yodle CEO. "As the largest show in the industry, the CEDIA Expo is perfect for us to present our services."

CE pros tend to be small- to medium-sized businesses, which are well suited for Yodle. "Custom integrators are somewhat more sophisticated in terms of the Internet than many other industries we work with. They understand the value of local online advertising, the Web and online directories," he adds.

Court advises integrators who come to the booth to ask this key question: "How do I get started?"

"Most of them know that they need to advertise on the Web, but they don't know how to get going," he says.

Cunningham identifies local online advertising with Yodle as ideal for integrators, citing the ability to set up pay-per-click ads, tracking the success rates of online ads and even establishing a rating system for individual ads.
