This position reports to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. The role engages senior executives and business partners to drive profitable growth and ensure effective cost control. The position focuses on planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting. In addition it contributes strategic insights through financial modeling and analysis. The financial analyst performs weekly, monthly and ad hoc business reporting. This role is a key player in driving financing activities responding to investor request, developing new analysis, working with external bankers and preparing presentations. This position requires a driven self-starter, who takes tasks from start to finish and one who enjoys working in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
Responsibilities
- Drive the preparation of company/departmental budgets and forecasts
- Deliver three year strategic plan, annual budget, mid-year budget revision, and Q1, Q2 and Q3 updates while providing monthly variance analysis in these areas.
- Create annual operating, overhead and capital budgets in partnership with business leads
- Participate in long range financial planning process
- Incorporate new product developments and operational efficiencies
- Manage corporate financial model and maintain/update as well as improve accuracy of business drivers
- Modify model to incorporate business changes and new products
- Develop forecasting techniques while quantifying risks and opportunities in this area.
- Produce weekly, monthly financial/business/executive reporting
- Maintain and enhance executive dashboards and monthly reports. Prepare board presentations.
- Investigate variances and ensure consistency, integrity and accuracy of reports
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Operations organizations to set clear objectives around effective compensation programs, metrics analysis and trend management.
- Provide monthly financial data including operational reviews, cost control assessment and variance analysis to business leads in order to drive business improvements.
- Provide insights into drivers of financial and operational results. Supply ideas for performance improvement
- Develop and refine financial models and analytical frameworks to support management with financial planning, pricing, new product development, and investment decisions (i.e. business cases).
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses and build financial models to inform teams on operating strategies, investment recommendations, and new business opportunities
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency across all core finance processes while maintaining cross-functional relationships with key operations business partners to ensure strategic alignment.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience preferably within consulting, investment banking or private equity
- Minimum of a BS in Business or Finance, MBA in Finance preferred.

- Flexibility (open to change) and ability to learn on the fly
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills
- Solid understanding of accounting principles
- Candidates must possess substantial experience with financial modeling and automation and proficiency in MS Excel.
- Database systems and tools, such as SQL preferred
