Yodle is looking for a thoughtful and talented digital designer to join our in-house team. This individual will design website templates for Yodle customers in a wide range of industries. These templated sites require a thoughtful approach, as they will be used by local businesses who may provide their own logos, photos, and other assets. Therefore, the design system must be strong enough to maintain aesthetic and structural standards while supporting customer-specific variations. Most importantly, these sites are expected to convert visitors into leads for Yodle customers.
 
To succeed in this role, you must have range as a visual designer as you’ll be designing for customers in various industries. You must demonstrate a polished and professional design aesthetic in your work.  You must demonstrate the ability to think systematically about creating modular design systems. You will need to show an understanding of technical considerations, such as designing for a content management system. And you must be effective in collaborating with interaction designers, front-end developers and other user experience professionals.
 

Responsibilities

• Design new templates and template variations according to assigned schedule
• Establish and document visual design standards that will guide the design of all future Yodle customer sites
• Collaborate with other Yodle team members, including interaction designers, front-end developers, product managers, etc. -- in creating effective website templates
• Analyze and apply learnings from website performance reports to ensure constant improvement in template design
• Communicate effectively with departments, team members and other project related groups to ensure project objectives are understood and consistently met, communicating project status and recommending adjustments to plan

Qualifications

• Experience designing websites and/or digital applications
• Must have expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• Undergraduate degree graphic design or related field
• Ability to multitask and work on many open tasks in a single day under tight deadlines
• Experience in search engine optimization, design for direct response, A/B and multivariable testing
• Experience in interaction design (e.g., wireframes, sitemaps) a plus
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS a plus
