Job Overview
Yodle, a leading provider of local search advertising and online lead generation services to small and medium businesses, is seeking a Web Developer to join our in-house team and assist with our Yodle Organic products. To succeed in this role, you must have keen attention to detail in code implementation and a knack for understanding domain operations and DNS record management. This person will need to quickly assess and change a website based on both the client’s needs and product specifications.
Responsibilities
• Assess client websites, recognize language, adjust and edit HTML/CSS code
• Troubleshoot domain/hosting issues, including configuration of DNS names and records
• Ensure SEO Success by creating and maintaining both internal and external client websites and applying established on-page SEO best practices
• Provide ongoing feedback to Sales & Client Services to reinforce best practices related to Yodle’s SEO work
• Support Web Development team in developing and maintaining great websites.
• Work closely with other Yodle departments to ensure the clients marketing goals and objectives are being understood and met within established timelines and with the highest level of quality
Qualifications
• 1-3 years experience in web development
• Ability to hand-code HTML and CSS in div-based layouts.
• Ability to understand/modify complex DNS records and troubleshoot conflicts.
• Familiarity with SEO, including semantic markup, content creation and on-page and off-page optimization best practices
• Extensive knowledge of popular content management systems, including WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and custom CMS setups.
• Experience with FTP applications and domain/site management systems (cpanel, plesk, etc.)
• Excellent communication and organization skills – ability to assess and adapt to client needs and deliver efficient updates on multiple public-facing sites
• A working knowledge of Photoshop
• Knowledge of user-interface best-practices for web design
• Desire to innovate and bring new ideas to our process
• Experience in an agency or creative environment is a plus
• BA/BS in a related field
