This role will report to the Director of Web Development and will be charged with managing our Expert Author Program, which consists of engaging internal and external writers to interview Yodle clients about their businesses and expertise, and then publish articles on their behalf to various online outlets to enhance their online presence. This role will manage a small team of internal and external writers while working closely with senior leadership to develop Yodle’s content strategy.
Additionally, you will manage and execute upon a predetermined on-page and off-page Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy on major search engines such as Google, Yahoo! and Bing to enhance our client’s online presence while ensuring that key milestones and initiatives are delivered on time with the highest level of quality.
Responsibilities
• Manage a team of internal and external writers to acquire and distribute content
• Work with leadership to define content acquisition strategy, tactics, roadmap and milestones
• Optimize content plan based on SEO best practices, response rates, etc.
• Work with the SEO team to track and assess search engine indexing and rankings, identify keyword and topic opportunities, etc.
• Edit content for quality and fit with business objectives and Yodle best practices
Qualifications
• 4+ years experience in a project management and people management role
• 4+ years experience editing content for web properties for direct response
• SEO and direct response editing experience for small to medium sized businesses a MUST
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects at the same time with varying deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent data analysis skills
• Excellent writing and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively communicate project statuses and goals across Yodle departments as well as your own team
• Proficiency with MS Office
• Proficiency with WordPress
• Knowledge of AP style
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Experience with HTML/CSS a BIG plus!
