We are currently seeking a Lead Software Developer to oversee the technical and quantitative aspects of our Optimization team.
Yodle’s Optimization Team is a small group of quantitative professionals who work within our Product department. Our work involves the research and development of optimization algorithms that have a direct impact on the company’s revenue stream and bottom line. Specifically, we apply rigorous quantitative methods (e.g., constrained optimization, parametric/non-parametric estimation) in delivering efficient, scalable technologies to solve a myriad of very challenging problems. Recent work has ranged from applying censored data techniques in model estimation to the prototyping of a tool dedicated to efficient search key-phrase selection. We generally code in Java for our production systems and script in Python for research-focused tasks. Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in a Quantitative and/or Software Development environment, building software that works, is reliable, testable and maintainable.
• Experience leading a team of technical professionals
• Having programmed in Java will help you get going faster, but your primary languages aren’t as important as being a great programmer
• SQL proficiency. Proficiency with PostgreSQL is a plus
• Proficiency in Python, R and Excel is a plus
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant course of study (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics). Advanced degree is a plus.
